10-can Percussion
10can percussion is a North Carolina based ensemble committed to the performance of new and classic works for percussion. 10can is comprised of founding members Corey Denham, Emory Hensley and Justin Mabry. Formed in the fall of 2013 10can is a natural continuation of music making that began while the group studied at Mars Hill University. 10can has presented diverse concerts and master classes through out the southeastern United States. With a repertoire that ranges from John Luther Adams to Daft Punk 10can explores all the possibilities of percussion instruments. Notable performances of 2014 include performing at the North Carolina Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion, the Black Mountain College Museum (RE)Happening an annual event honoring the pioneering artistic spirit of Black Mountain College, and a collaboration with percussionist Aaron Michael Butler performing the standalone premiere of Michael Burtner’s work “Anugi Unipkaaq“ for percussion quartet from Burtners multimedia theatre work “Winter Raven”. 10can regularly collaborates with renowned percussion artists. Recent collaborations have included Dr. Brian Tinkel, Aaron Michael Butler and Joshua Dryer. 10can is currently an ensemble in residency at Mars Hill University where they perform concerts, give master classes and coach student chamber ensembles. In 2015 10can will be premiering new music for percussion trio by composers Nicholas Elliot Rich and Andy Smith.
Mobius Percussion
Mobius Percussion seeks to fuse their interest in fresh sounds with their commitment to high quality performance and the promotion of new works by emerging composers. The group is composed of David Degge, Mika Godbole, Yumi Tamashiro and Frank Tyl, who formed the ensemble after working together at the first annual So Percussion Summer Institute in Princeton, NJ. Based in New York City, the ensemble made their debut at downtown multimedia art cabaret, (Le) Poisson Rouge, performing alongside other notable artists including So Percussion, Nexus, Meehan/Perkins Duo and Mantra Percussion. Since then they have performed at venues including the Firehouse Space, the Cell, Princeton Sound Kitchen, Good Child Music Studios, and Andrea Clearfield’s Salon to name a few.

In addition to their regular performance schedule, Mobius has given concerts and masterclasses at numerous universities including the Curtis Institute of Music, York College of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University, and Rowan University as well as participating in educational outreach programs including the MAP program at Juilliard and others.
To date, Mobius has produced four music video projects featuring the works of living composers. Their most recent projects include collaboration with dancers for a video recording of selections from Elliot Cole’s Postludes as well as a theatrical performance video of Wally Gunn’s Vicious Children. Other commissions include new works by composers Jason Trueting, Jacob Cooper, Wally Gunn, and Andrea Mazzariello.

In the Spring of 2015, Mobius will embark on their first tour, stopping at venues and giving masterclasses in Tennessee and California.
