2017Nathanael Roney presents “Dear Mother”
OctoberDoors 8pm, Show 9pm - $5
"Dear Mother" is a performance written, directed and starring the artist. Imagined in the context of a long-form letter to his mother, the piece is an exploration of state, purpose and future, a methodical collection of prose, verse and song. The artist will be joined by a small cast of collaborators he's worked closely with in the past, including the team of himself, Bridget Elmer, Brooke Priddy and Matt Schnable. This will be the group's fifth installation of concept and performance. Additionally, the ensemble will be accompanied by the musical contributions of Keith Minguez and others. Deliberations of visual set, sound and program will take place as well.
The video linked here was produced in the summer of 2017. It illustrates the song "It's Ok To Be Sad," and is considered relevant to the working vision of "Dear Mother."
