Jeffrey Lewis & Los Bolts
Born and raised New Yorker Jeffrey Lewis is a comic book artist and indie-rock musician, treading in the musical realms of Yo La Tengo/Jonathan Richman/Velvet Underground. Beginning with homemade cassettes in the late 90s, and moving on to touring the world and releasing "proper" albums on Rough Trade Records since 2001, Jeffrey's career has included sharing bills and tours with the likes of The Vaselines, The Fall, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Roky Erickson, The Mountain Goats, Daniel Johnston, Devo, Pulp and many other luminaries. In between his contemplative folk narratives and garage indie-punk songs Jeffrey is known for including illustrated songs in concert, sometimes covering historical topics (like "The History of Cuba”), or strange flights of fancy (like "The Creeping Brain"). Current band incarnation Jeffrey Lewis & Los Bolts features Mem Pahl on bass and Brent Cole on drums. Rough Trade Records (label of The Smiths, The Strokes, etc.) has released the seventh Jeffrey Lewis album, “Manhattan,” mixed by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., War on Drugs), widely acclaimed as the best Jeffrey Lewis album to date; Jeffrey has self-published twelve issues of his comic book series Fuff, and Jeffrey's writing, illustrations, comic books and music have been featured by The New York Times, NPR and The History Channel (among other places).

Stray Owls
After self-releasing EP’s in late 2015 and early 2016, Stray Owls, the Mebane, NC duo of Scott Griffiths and Matt French are ecstatic to be releasing their first full length, A Series of Circles, on February 17th via Potluck Foundation, a Chapel Hill/Durham-based boutique record label for tastemakers and music nerds. Building on the fuzz-folk of their previous releases and live shows, the band fleshed out these recordings by incorporating mellotron, drums, a typewriter, piano, xylophone, banjo, and layers of feedback that all find a place, sprinkled throughout these ten songs. Matt and Scott trade lead vocals and fuse traditional storytelling with stream of conscious imagery that seems to seep into their non-traditional structure of songwriting. Despite being self-taught, they play all the instruments on A Series of Circles, with the exception of drums. The album was recorded by veteran engineer, Jerry Kee (Superchunk, Polvo, Schooner, The Kneads), at his Duck Kee Studio (#8) in Mebane, NC. Jerry’s patience and willingness to let the band try things out were paramount to these recordings coming out the way they did. Jerry also handled drums and percussion duties on the album, which added another dimension to the songs the band couldn’t create as a duo. All in all, A Series of Circles was blessed by a few overly calculated last second decisions and some completely random happy accidents. Stay tuned for more. Stray Owls are just getting started.
Utah Green
Kerry 'Utah’ Green, now going by Amrita Prem, moved to Asheville, NC in 2000, the same year her father gave her his guitar for a birthday present. Thus began her musical career, and since then she has written about 40 songs, learned to play the guitar, banjo and harmonica in a toe-tapping old time folk style, and performed her music in such distant places as Ketchikan, Alsaka and San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico; she has also spent musical time in Europe and the Middle East, and more recently, Guatemala and Gold Hill.

Each song is different and stands on its own, but can be generally categorized as funny and quirky, complex, emotional, and reflective. There is wonderful imagery in her poetry that stimulates one's imagination and it can be very moving in a positive sense. It is sometimes a challenge to capture and comprehend the multiple meanings of some of her verse, but it's worth the effort.

As a performer, she seems able to sense the mood of the audience and to play the right song at the right time. She connects with her audience on a personal level, makes one feel as if she's singing for you alone. She is low key, and doesn't get excessively dramatic or passionate, which, thus understated, lends more force to the words she sings. There is no separation between her and the audience as there often is with popular artists.

She has currently recorded 4 full albums, and is in the process of creating the fifth this winter.
