2018Free Monday! w/ Ed Schrader’s Music Beat, Kreamy ‘Lectric Santa
March9pm - $Free
Working steadily in Dan’s studio for two years in total collaboration, three evolving musicians pushed through an intense period of personal tumult and found purpose in the sounds they were committing to record. The result: a polished and passionate masterpiece of nuanced alt-rock. From driving opening track “Dunce” and the soaring single “Riddles” to the disarmingly gorgeous closer “Culebra,” Ed and Devlin unapologetically channel a personal pantheon of pop and rock gods while growing into the band—and people—they’d previously kept caged inside.
The life's work and great unraveling of Robert Price (Prom sluts, Funyons, 1 of 3 Djs on Afm's Beyond the realm of comprehension ) and Priya ‘itchy finga’ Ray (monostadt 3, Cicada 3302).
Initially hailing from Miami Fla the band has at one time or another resided in Hershey Pa, Gauteng Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Oakland Ca Asheville NC and Atlanta Ga to where Priya sustained a life altering spinal injury.
Never allowing carpal tunnel, abject misery, gleefully perceived musical incompetence or a spinal injury stop them dead in their tracks Kreamy 'lectric santa continue to majestically goose step their way around complete culturally reconstructive domination and grandiose insanity.
Joined by local hometown boy dun good Chris Head (Flies around it, periodontal blues band, Blessed youth) and Christopher Phillips (Space Grandma, Famous Potatoes). Kreamy et/al take no prisoners with unbridled involuntary intensity, and irresponsible genre bending.
One (who shall remain unnamed) and is not Thurston Moore once said that musically the band performs a maddening yet compassionate cum sic absurd amalgam of garage, dada country prog, post punk psychedelic, old timey-esque, experimental industrial disco, noise, discharge swing that's destined to appeal to a select few of the cerebral expectant.
Praised by despondent mailable family members, folks prone to getting lost, lowlife scum, tastemakers and close friends who outta know better. Kreamy 'Lectric Santa veer uncontrollably into the new millennium as.... "the next obscure thing".
